Is online dating sinful?

Well, I am very lonely. I have not dated anyone in so long. I was thinking I might try online dating but I am wondering if it is sinful or not. First off, I don't want it to seem like I have even a dollop of trollop in me. I am NOT that kind of person. I also dont want my future husband to think I am a whore or slut for going on too many dates in my youth. I am a virgin and only want to date other virgins who wont do sex until after marriage (well after!). I go to Church Sunday morning and night and also Wednesday night. Unfortunately there are no single men in my age bracket [34]. I did go on a few dates with a man from my last Church who was 21 but it caused a commotion and ended up with my leaving the Church. Please, if there is a Christian way to do this I would love it. Please tell if this is sinful or not. I will verify with Paster Maine, but I cannot do that unless I have some background info because I am afraid he may think I am not wise. Thanks you!!!
